Air Source Heat Pumps: Installer Technical Assesment

The most important aspect of all heat pump installations

We are a design first MCS accredited heat pump designer and installer. Efficient and high performing heat pump installations are only as good as the time spent in design, specification and planning, before any physical work takes place.

Telephone Consultation

A customer journey with Enerus starts with a simple call, to find out the needs of our customer and talk through the differing aspects of a heat pump installation compared to what they may already be used to.

Here we talk about what to expect with costs for the installation and the running costs of a heat pump, although a more fixed figures require an on site technical survey.

Technical Survey

Once we have consulted with our customers about what to expect, how it will work and what our process, we start to get one step closer to the installation of the heat pump.

This next chapter in the heat pump journey allows for us to collect important data about your house, giving us the opportunity to spend important time back at the office calculating the room by room heat losses and putting together a specification to suit you best.

An Enerus engineer will attend the appointment, and this survey usually takes around 1.5hrs to 2hrs. Vital measurements are taken, from room sizes, window sizes, wall composition, loft insulation and much more. Essentially we measure and note down all aspects of the building fabric and existing heating system.

All this gathered data is then passed over to one of our members of the design department. It’s their duty to make sure all that information is analysed, calculated and packaged up in to a formal document which we call; Installation Design Pack & Contract.

This document is around 30 pages in total, moving through all aspects of the design, what has been planned for the installation, our terms and conditions and the payment schedule.

You’ll also find aspects such as noise assessments, room by room heat loss, radiators that need to be upgraded and a heat pump performance estimated.

Air Source Heat Pump Installation

Now, the part you’ve been excited about.
The installation. For our customers, we agree a start date for the installation and our engineers will arrive on the morning of your installation, between 8:00AM and 9:00AM.

The allocated engineers will spend the first hour, checking over materials on site and the making sure they have looked around the property. Then they will explain to the customer what the next steps will be and how they plan to protect their property, minimise downtime of services, along with where pipes will be ran, where the cylinder and heat pump will be located.

Once everything has been installed, a process will take place to insulate the remainder of the new pipework and put back the property to how it was prior to the installation. Taking care to clean and keep works areas tidy at all times.

The next phase of the installation will include function testing and commissioning.
Followed by a user demonstration of the heating and hot water system before handing over the system to the customer.

Handover

A formal handover of the system will be done which includes all as fitted paperwork, warranties, registrations and information regarding any on-going maintenance requirements.

Aftercare

A dedicated team are on standby should you need help following your air source heat pump installation.
We offer an industry leading workmanship warranty of 24 months on all of our heat pump installations, giving our customers ultimate peace of mind.

If assistance is required, the process is pain free and easy to do, simply follow these basic steps;
Notification needs to be made to Enerus via a phone call or email, describing what issue has occurred, when it started and how long you’ve had it for. We also need information around if any work has been done to the heating system since the installation.

From this an appointment will be made and an engineer will attend site to check everything over.
If any issue is found regarding the workmanship of our installation, we will instruct our engineer to carry out any remedial works required.

We also offer annual servicing and carry out repairs on existing heat pump systems, even if they weren’t installed by Enerus.

Complimentary Visit

For peace of mind we offer a complimentary visit to check over your heat pump installation during your first winter.
