How do heat pumps work?

Simply put, an air source heat pump extracts heat from the ambient air around us, they work down to -20C and use electricity to transfer energy in the air in to heat for our hot water and heating. We have an existing network of running heat pumps hitting efficiencies between 300% to 480%.

What's included in our fixed prices

No surprises, our fixed price heat pumps come with everything you need

Heat pump

We work with leading heat pump manufacturers and have partnered with Ebac and Vaillant, both offering 7 year warranties. We'll install a base for the heat pump and install a soak away for the condensate.

Further benefits are gained when outdated or unsuitable heating systems are fully upgraded.

All homes in England & Wales with a valid EPC (energy performance certificate) are eligible for the Government's Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant for £7,500. If you haven't got an EPC don't worry, we can still help you.

Different types and makes of heat pumps.

Heat pumps come in different shapes and sizes. The most suitable for you will depend on your home, outdoor space available and budget.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need planning permission for a heat pump?

Heat pumps are generally classed under permitted development, meaning they don't generally require planning permission. Although we encourage customers to check with their local planning authority prior to starting their heat pump journey.

Are heat pumps noisy?

As you would expect heat pumps do make noise. Every installation must pass MCS noise assessment calculations. We carry out these calculations when we complete the technical survey. During normal operation you won't notice noise from a heat pump.

Will a heat pump keep my house warm?

Just like a conventional heating system, a heat pump installation is designed to keep you warm all year round. Heat pumps can work in temperatures as low as -30C. During our technical survey, we take all the information required to make sure you whole heating system is optimised and upgraded to give you home comfort.

How much do heat pumps cost?

A well designed heat pump, coupled with upgrades to the whole heating system will result in savings in energy costs. The up front capital cost is often more expensive than a boiler replacement, although costs can be offset through funding.

What funding is available for an installation?

All homeowners can take advantage of the governments Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), this is a one-off installer lead grant of £7,500 towards the installation of a heat pump.
